Lake Travis was created in 1937 by
the construction of Mansfield Dam on the Colorado River. This resulted in a lake
that is 63.75 miles long and a maximum width of 4.5 miles. It is one of the lakes in
the Highland Lakes system which includes Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls,
Lake Travis & Lake Austin.
